Attention Incoming Rattlers (FTIC): All First-Time In College (FTIC) students are required to complete the FOCUS 2 assessments prior to attending their New Student Orientation Session. Completing this step ensures you are ready to build an accurate, career-aligned class schedule.

What the FOCUS 2 Assessment Covers

A 45-Minute Investment in Your Future: FOCUS 2 features five mini-assessments that you can take at your own pace, on any device. Your progress is saved automatically.

• Work Interests: Discover how your natural preferences align with professional environments using the Holland Code framework.
• Personality Type: Learn how your decision-making style and problem-solving habits fit into different corporate and creative cultures.
• Skills & Talents: Identify your core strengths and see which industries require the things you naturally do best.
• Values: Determine what matters most to you in a career—whether that is financial security, creativity, independence, or helping others.
• Leisure Interests: See how your favorite hobbies and out-of-classroom passions can translate into a fulfilling livelihood.

Your Discovery Roadmap: From Assessment to Action

Step 1: Complete Your Self-Assessments

Go to the FAMU FOCUS 2 Portal and create your free account.

Access Code Needed: To create a new account, you must use our institutional access code: Rattlers87.

Step 2: Review Your Personalized Career Portfolio

Once finished, the platform will generate a detailed profile mapping your assessment scores directly to compatible job families, salary outlooks, and FAMU academic majors.

Step 3: Strategize with a FAMU Career Coach

Download your results and log into Handshake to schedule a 1-on-1 career counseling appointment. Our team will help you interpret your profile, clarify your goals, and map out a strategic academic and internship plan based on your results.
